Genuine Religion and Foster Care

The Bible tells us that Job was a blameless man… a man of complete integrity [Job 1:1].  When he encountered difficulty, his friends sought to convince him that his troubles
were a result of iniquity.  In his defense, Job began reflecting on his virtuous life.  In Job 31:18, he states “I have cared for orphans like a father”.  Did you catch that?  Job was a foster parent!  As he thought about the noble things he had done, the care of orphans came to mind.   Job was committed to caring for the most marginalized people groups of his day.  He was living out what James would later show in James 1:17 when he wrote, “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress”.

I am pleased to know that our work with Arrow Child and Family Ministries [http://www.arrow.org] pleases God, and replicates the work of a man the Bible called blameless… a man of complete integrity.
